ALL STANDARD FEDERAL PERSONAL CHECKING ACCOUNTS TO INCLUDE FREE ONLINE BILL PAY

Standard Federal Bank personal checking accounts will include free online bill pay for existing and new customers beginning April 1, 2004. This feature allows Standard Federal customers to pay anyone from the electric company to the babysitter from any computer with Internet access. With free online bill pay, Standard Federal customers now have more control over their time and money.

“Our customers told us that they appreciate the convenience of paying bills online from their Standard Federal personal checking accounts, but wanted the best deal in town,” said Group Senior Vice President Sam Kesler. “We decided that it would be hard to come up with a better deal than free! With more branches and ATMs than any bank in Michigan, an outstanding selection of personal checking accounts, and now free online bill pay, Standard Federal is working hard to make banking more convenient than ever.”

Standard Federal’s comprehensive personal checking product lineup includes basic packages such as Direct Plus Checking, which is free for clients who have their salary deposited directly into their accounts; Credit Exclusives, which rewards customers for their Standard Federal relationships; and more sophisticated products, such as the premium Select Services checking account.

Enrolling in free online bill pay is easy.

• New customers will learn how easy it is to sign up for free online bill pay when opening personal checking accounts at a Standard Federal branch.
• Standard Federal customers who already have bill pay will no longer be charged for the service as of April 1.
• Current Standard Federal customers who already bank online and want to add bill pay can sign up by logging in to Online Banking at standardfederalbank.com. Select the Pay Bills option and follow the simple onscreen instructions.
• Customers who aren’t enrolled in Online Banking can sign up on the bank’s Web site using their ATM or debit card number and PIN for free bill pay and immediate online access to their accounts.
