Royal BankNo Fee Visa Rewards CardRBC Royal Bank is launching a new no fee Visa rewards card that gives consumers the ability to earn points towards travel, merchandise and gift certificates. The new RBC Rewards Visa Classic card provides points under the RBC Rewards program which gives clients access to the widest array of reward options available to Canadian cardholders. "No other credit card offers as many reward options without a fee," said Andrew Mitchell, RBC's senior manager, RBC Rewards. "The RBC Rewards Visa is designed for consumers who have lower-to-moderate monthly spending, who don't want to pay an annual fee, but still want to be rewarded with points for using their card." Points earned under the RBC Rewards program, which launched in April 2003, are redeemable for air travel on any airline without black-out periods, cruises, tours, hotel accommodations, and car rentals. RBC Rewards also include gift certificates from some of Canada's best known merchants like Future Shop, Famous Players, and Esso, as well as over 200 merchandise items from top-name manufacturers such as Sony, Roots and Callaway Golf. Points can even be redeemed for RRSP or RESP contributions. "The RBC Rewards Visa will give cardholders one point for every two dollars spent," added Mitchell. "Along with the other great RBC Rewards available, cardholders can also redeem their points for donations to the Canadian Olympic Excellence Fund and receive a tax receipt - a first in Canada."
